US Revokes Visa for Panama's Vice Mayor Over Criticism of Agreement

Panamanian Vice Mayor Roberto Ruiz Díaz reports his U.S. visa was revoked by the embassy in Paraguay due to his criticism of a bilateral agreement, despite a recent trouble-free trip to Los Angeles.

Vice Mayor Roberto Ruiz Díaz has reported that the U.S. Embassy in Paraguay has revoked his visa. He stated that the revocation is due to his stance against the memorandum of understanding with the United States. The embassy's notification confirms that the visa has been legally revoked and can no longer be used to enter the U.S. The embassy requested Ruiz Díaz to present the visa for physical cancellation on November 26th. He is, however, eligible to apply for a new one. Ruiz Díaz mentioned that he traveled to Los Angeles, California, from November 5th to 11th without any migration issues. "This decision is final."
